G2 Hyper, released by Gruppo Due, was first developed for the 2026 Circulating Copies exhibition by Stiftung IMAI — Inter Media Art Institute. It emerged from the curatorial intention to create a typeface that prioritizes clarity and accessibility in contemporary reading environments. Designed in the styles Visible and Visible Slanted, it was conceived as a hyperlegible font with distinctly differentiated letterforms, aiming to reduce ambiguity and enhance recognition across a wide range of contexts. The design draws on principles established by the Braille Institute, translating their guidelines into a contemporary typographic language. Strong distinctions are made between characters that are otherwise easily confused, such as O, 0 and Q, as well as p and q or I, l and i. Subtle shifts in proportion, open apertures and carefully articulated details contribute to improved readability. Open Font License allows the font to be used, modified, and redistributed.
